About Me
Lisbon, Portugal 1983
My primary focus as an artist is contemporary ceramics, but I also delve into digital art and contemporary jewelry. My creative universe revolves around the dystopian world we currently inhabit. Although I reside in Lisbon, Portugal, all my work is developed in between two countryside locations, where I maintain two permanent studios: one in a small villa in Loures city, and the other in Castelo de Vide, Alentejo. Both of these studios are situated in profoundly remote areas, seemingly on the precipice of an ending or transformation at any given moment.
In the raw remnants of these landscapes, where the old world has given way to the techno-rural, I discover the inspiration for my ceramics, from the textures to the concepts. These locations are sparsely populated and rapidly heading towards desertification. Yet, it is precisely within their ruins that I find the wellspring of inspiration to create new textures. The future of these concrete and stone remnants gleams with promise, much like the myriad possibilities of the dystopian worlds that lie before us.
